And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
As received by the General Overseer (G.O.), Pastor E. A. Adeboye, our mission as a church is
To teach and preach the word of God in truth and in spirit, saving souls by leading people by grace through faith to Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Our ultimate goal is to make heaven, thus we preach the word of the lord without ceasing, preparing and equipping the church by cleaning power of the word of the lord, perfecting the saints for the work of the ministry and edifying of the body of Christ for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
To do this, we labor hard through the grace of God given to us by planting churches within five minutes' walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries.
We will pursue these objectives until the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
Our mission is summarized below
-
To make heaven
-
To take as many people as possible with us.
-
To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.
-
To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.
-
To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within five minutes of walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries
It is high time we intensify evangelism at the local parishes using various means of evangelization such as outreach programs during special holidays, crusades and community contribution to demonstrate Christ love. (Operation Andrew – save a soul a week, One-Verse Evangelism, etc.). Wouldn’t you like to shine as stars forever and ever? Daniel 12:3
There is no alternative to maintaining the esteemed standard of ‘old-time religion’. We must be totally obedient to follow Christ implicitly without reservations. This starts from Pastors as relates to integrity in ministry, manners of conduct, maturity, marriage, money, morality, being well informed. These attributes have to be assimilated first by the leaders then imparted on the followers. Are you a model of integrity? Proverbs. 22:28, Isaiah. 35:8
We face the challenge of integrating our African inclination into the acceptable American values with a view of not limiting fellowship to Africans. The African Christian attributes we hold strongly are holiness, prayerfulness, strong faith, deepness of worship and hand of fellowship, while American virtues include effective time management, community service and strategic planning. ” … with all thy getting get understanding” Proverbs. 4:7
Are you getting the principal thing?
Most of us have vivid memories of the miracles that abound during Holy-Ghost services and annual national Holy-Ghost congress back in Lagos. The Lord can surely bring the same level of revival to North America; how prepared are we for this?
The great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ is that we should go into the world and propagate the Gospel. Today, in furtherance of this mandate, The Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide established over 1,500 parishes in 2001. We believe in positioning our worship centers close to the people hence in North America we are challenged to establish parishes in every State, County, City and in fact within 30 minutes driving distance. Today, in North America, we have about 100 parishes and our target before the next year’s convention is to reach 200. What is your contribution towards this goal?
